Agri SA het sy toegewyde Water Sentrum vandag geloods wat gaan fokus op die prioriteit om regverdige toegang tot water vir Suid Afrikaans boere te verseker. Hierdie inisiatief is in reaksie op die verskeidenheid uitdagings wat landbou-watergebruikers in die gesig staar, wat uiterste droogte, klimaatsverandering en water-infrastruktuur wat nie behoorlik in stand gehou is nie, insluit. Die situasie is soveel meer dringend gegewe verskeie beleidsvoorstelle wat gelyktydig die koste van water kan verhoog terwyl die beskikbaarheid verlaag word.

The organisers of Nampo, one of the largest agricultural exhibitions in South Africa, say the premises near Bothaville in the Free State are already a hive of activity as exhibitors begin setting up for the annual show, which runs from May 15 to 18.

The countries performing better than South Africa were the US, Brazil, Argentina, Ukraine, Russia, France, Romania and Hungary. These countries collectively accounted for 88 percent of global maize exports in 2017
